Contribute
We actively encourage readers to contribute material for publication on Pocket Farm. Our remit is to supply the best local information for the smallholding and self-sufficiency community and what better way to do that than to have first hand knowledge on tap – that’s where you come in.
Whether it’s club or event information, news, pictures, illustrations, videos or articles and whether they are serious, topical or something a bit more light-hearted we are happy to receive your submissions for consideration.
Submissions can be made by email or post. Copy should be sent as a text only or as a Microsoft Word document, we can also accept typed copy. Images should be of as clear as possible and saved in high quality jpg format. Please contact us before sending video files. If sending files by email ensure the filename is descriptive of the content. All media sent by post should be marked with your name and contact details.
While the Editor reserves the right to edit or omit any material submitted we will endeavour to work with the author if significant changes are made prior to publication. Articles should be concise and kept as short as possible. 300-800 words is perfect for internet publication but please don’t let this restrict you if you have something that needs more space call us to discuss your idea. Please only submit articles and information on subjects that are relevant to the editorial content of Pocket Farm.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept responsibility for any materials submitted, solicited or otherwise, so please ensure you have copies or electronic back-ups before forwarding your information. If you would like materials returned please include a stamped addressed envelope.
The internet and websites such as this thrive on original, unique information. Due to the nature of major search engines and how they ‘grade’ websites it is important to ensure that submissions to Pocket Farm are entirely your own work and that, unless otherwise agreed, they are submitted for the exclusive use of Pocket Farm. Any pictures submitted should be your own and/or free of any copyright restrictions that could lead to claims for infringement of copyright or payment if published. If pictures require a credit please mark this clearly on the image or in the filename. It is assumed that any recognisable people featured in photos submitted have granted their permission for their image to be used for publication.
