hi all I am looking to do a documentary in the Shetland island and I am looking for any farmers that have rare breeds of live stock or that are only found in the Shetland island we would like to interview them and film there live stock we are looking for cattle and sheep 07706083994

I have just aquired a little herd of these beauties, partly inspired by your blog. I am completely “in love”. They are such brave, intelligent, hardy creatures and so beautiful to look at that I look forward to a long and fruitfull relationship with my girls and boys. I wanted horned cattle as they seem so much more alive than the huge, sad creatures that many cows have become over the years. I am very happy.

Very interesting article. I google these cattle as a friend mentioned wanting to get some for her small holding and asked my opinion (we have Dexters). I couldn’t comment because I had never heard of them before. Having read the article I would suspect they are difficult to find to buy and even more difficult to find an unrelated bull should A.I. not be used. (We have had poor results with A.I. and now always hire in a bull for our small herd of cows)
